Is Knowledge to Action a Scam?

In order to answer this question I have spent in total 9 hours last week reading as many forum posts and blog articles as I can find.

Here is what I have found…

99% of the people complaining about Knowledge to Action are in two camps:

  1. They signed up to attend one of the Knowledge to Action courses such as the one I attended – “Ultimate Forex“. Then got cold feet, got a refund & complained when Knowledge to Action offered alternatives to a refund such as changing course dates.
  2. They signed up, did the course, sat on their bums and did nothing then slammed Knowledge to Action that the course failed!

I have been introduced to numerous con artists and scams throughout the entire 8 years I have been running PropertyTalk.com. I think after this time I have a very good gut-feel for when a person/business is running a scam.

Proof that the Strategies Work for Me

If you just want proof that their strategies work then read these posts:

Knowledge to Action Master Trader Forex Course – Day 2 – Update (2000 + Pips on Income Generator)

Income Generator – 65 Pips and Counting!

The Income Generator strategy is my favorite Forex strategy :)

What I have found with people in general is that most never “get off the couch” and try to reach their goals. They are instead quite happy to talk about their goals and dreams using phrases like “If only….”, “If I had a million dollars…”, “I hate my job…”, “One day I am going to leave my job and do what I love…”, “I am much smarter than my boss…”, “I will win Lotto this week!”.

YAWN

Boring right?

Because you have heard this from most people you know maybe even yourself.

I have also found that people who talk like this will generally feel good about themselves when someone, who is trying to reach their goals, hits a challenge or initially fails. They feel good because they can say to themselves “I told you so…” or “I knew he/she would never make it – who do they think they are…”.

What they are doing is “proving” to themselves that its better to say on the couch and dream than make an effort and go for it and have RISK in their life.

People who sign up to courses that can change their life but get scared and give up EVEN before they start are the ones that complain the most.

When I am looking at courses to attend I don’t ask these types of people for their advice – because they are not in the same mental frame as me. They are worker bees and most will stay like that until they die.

Harsh words?

Well its your life not theirs so why should they influence how you think?

One of the most common tips that successful people state is “be around people who think like you”.

For example if you stated to your workmates during a coffee break that you are going to become a Forex trader full time so you can be your own boss. What would the bulk of replies be? Negative right? That’s because they don’t want you to succeed because then they have to think about their own life which is cocooned in “safe” and “comfortable”.

Another thing that I found looking through the comments asking if Knowledge to Action is a scam is the question on why the course costs what it does. To be honest its not that much – a few thousand to change your life? Believe me when I say you can lose that amount and more trading Forex without any professional training.

What I have found is that the bulk of people who complain about the cost of a course are not interested in doing the course no matter how much its costs – hell! It could be free and they would still complain. What they are doing are finding excuses not to attend as they would rather stay cocooned in “safe” and “comfortable”.

I have even seen people complain that there is no lunch provided!! Get over it! If you don’t attend a course solely because they don’t provide lunch but instead provide top trainers and really good content then go back to work and stay there.

Running a business costs money – tax, staff wages, rent, lawyers, accountants, running costs, hardware, software and more bloody tax (especially in Aussie where they start calling tax “levies” when they want to get more $$ from you!). So if the bulk of the money is used to provide you with the best teachers and content and there is nothing left for lunch then isn’t that a good thing?

So after this mad rant is Knowledge to Action a Scam?

In my opinion no – because:

  1. I found the course very good. Dragan taught the course who is a professional trainer. The course starts at the very basic level such as “why Forex?”, “what is Forex?”, “what are trend lines?”, “what are pivots?”, “what is MACD?”.
  2. Knowledge to Action teaches you 3 strategies to use in the Forex market which are called “Forex Income Generator”, “Ultimate Forex Pivots”, “Ultimate Forex Sniper Trade”.
  3. They teach you about the importance of risk and working out how much money to place on a trade.
  4. They teach you how to read the market and identify signs that alert you to opportunities or times to get out of the market.
  5. You get 3 coaching sessions with a professional Forex trader who helps you work out your goals and reviews your traders log! Do you think that should be free? How much do you think these guys charge an hour if you approached them directly??

The list goes on but read my posts for more information…

And finally if you like “Free” or “discounted courses” then just remember this “you pay peanuts – you get monkeys”.

I would rather pay for professional traders to teach me the basics of Forex trading and then give me 3 trading strategies designed to reduce risk when trading than go to a free course because they serve lunch but of course the instructor is a seller not a professional trader.

Great post Marc, excellent. Also a fabulous reminder to give ourselves a kick up the bum when we lapse :) Onwards! Onwards! Huzzah!

Sounds like this blog is really a 'knowledge to action' insider creating good press, trying to suck you all in. Don't do it, people, as he quite correctly states, you will not get a free lunch!
If you want money, find something you like/love, find a job where you can use it, and get to work. If the thing you love is money (real love, people, not greed!), then go for it. But always remember, you can spend a lifetime making big bucks, but you can't take it with you!!!

      Hi Sam,

Nope – I am not a staff member of Knowledge to Action. I did not pay to attend the course as I am a NZ property investor who is looking at forex and agreed to set up a blog to detail my experiences. I paid for my own travel expenses from Wellington to Sydney to sit the course and I pay $130.00 USD per month to run eSignal out of my own money and so far have spent about 3k in costs. If I find something bad about them I can write about it – they have not told me to lie.

    Hi Marc,

I'm doing the Ultimate Forex course in London in May and really looking forward to it.

I've just stumbled on your blog and will be following your progress closely. I have a personal political blog and was thinking of setting up a trading blog too for fun. Hopefully we can compare notes at some point.

    Best

Hi James, I just signed on to do the course in Sydney. How did you find the course and how are you going now? Any advice for newbies?

    Hi guys,
I did the ultimate forex course in London two weeks ago. I am a complete novice trader, but found the course brilliant. The strategies taught are very good.My course also included the new snap back strategy which is great. Since the course I have placed 12 trades and won on 10 of them. I am damm sure I wouldn't of been able to do that without doing the course.
I do think you have to be realistic, your learning a skill for life. I was surprised by the amount of people who thought they would be earning £10,000 a week the minute they walked out of the door. These are probably the people who are moaning a couple of weeks later. Like anything in life it takes time to become a master, but like everything else in life if you put the effort in and follow the rules you can make some money!

Anyway if your a novice and serious about learning, I would fully recommend the course. If your a dreamer or looking for a get rich quick promise, then stay away and don't waste your time.

I hope this helps make up your minds.

    Happy trading,
    Nick.
